Jesus Is Our Rock

“The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust.” — Psalm 18:2

Beloved in Christ, as we step into a new week, we are reminded that while the world around us continues to change, Jesus Christ remains our unshakable Rock. Circumstances may change, plans may be delayed, and unexpected challenges may arise, but our confidence rests in the One who never changes.

David declares, “The Lord is my rock.” A rock represents strength, stability, and permanence. It stands unmoved through storms, winds, and the passing of time. In the same way, Christ is our firm foundation. When life becomes uncertain, we do not stand on our own understanding, but on His unchanging character and unfailing promises.

The Psalmist also calls Him “my fortress, and my deliverer.” A fortress is a place of protection and security. God not only strengthens us; He surrounds us with His presence and delivers us from dangers seen and unseen. Whatever you may face this week, know that the Lord has already gone before you and can preserve you.

He continues by saying, “my God, my strength, in whom I will trust.” Trust is the language of faith. It means choosing to depend on God even when we cannot see the outcome. Faith does not eliminate challenges, but it gives us confidence that God is working all things together for our good and for His glory.

Jesus Himself taught that those who hear His Word and obey it are like wise builders who built their house upon the rock. The rains fell, the floods came, and the winds blew, yet the house stood firm because its foundation was secure. The storms came to everyone, but only those anchored in Christ remained standing.

This is the confidence we carry into this new week.

Do not allow fear, disappointment, or uncertainty to shake your faith. Instead, remain anchored in Christ. Stay faithful in prayer, steadfast in His Word, and confident in His promises. The Rock upon which you stand has never failed, and He never will.

Be encouraged that Jesus is still your refuge, your strength, and your everlasting hope. His love remains constant, His grace is sufficient, and His power is more than enough for every challenge you may encounter.

For when everything around us is shaken, our foundation remains secure because Jesus is our Rock.
