“Keep Lifting Each Other Up.”

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Beloved, we live in a world that can feel broken and unpredictable. One moment, life seems steady, and the next, a phone call, a doctor’s report, or an unexpected meeting can shake us. None of us is immune to hardship, and God knew we would need comfort, reassurance, and one another’s strength to endure difficult seasons. That is why Scripture continually reminds us to encourage and build each other up. Paul’s words echo through time: “You are already doing this, so keep it going!” That is exactly what we need to hear today.

Life without Jesus Christ is chaotic and fragile. Some struggles are visible to all, while others are carried silently in the heart. But one truth remains: we all need encouragement. A kind word, a genuine smile, a short message, or a simple prayer can do more than we realize. God often uses our ordinary acts to reveal His extraordinary love.

Building one another up is more than offering cheers from the sidelines. It means investing in people, affirming their worth, pointing them back to God’s promises, and reminding them they are not alone. Just as a builder lays brick upon brick, we are called to lay encouragement, patience, and love into the lives of others.

Be that encourager to your family, your friends, or your co-workers. True encouragers not only speak uplifting words but also walk beside others in their struggles and even advocate when needed. And here is the beautiful truth: when we lift others up, we ourselves are lifted. When we encourage, we are encouraged. The church grows stronger, hope spreads wider, and the love of Christ shines brighter.

So let us not hold back. Someone near you needs to hear: “You matter. God is with you. Do not give up.” Someone needs to know their story isn’t over and God’s promises still stand.

Be that voice. Be that friend. Be that builder.

•  “When we choose to lift others, we never stay on the ground ourselves.”

Paul’s message is just as powerful today: keep encouraging, keep building, keep going. As we lift each other up, we reflect the heart of Jesus and together, we rise.
